MUE-25 model in European Commission guidance for Thematic Strategy on the Urban Environment
The European Commission has issued guidance on Integrated Environmental Management Plans following their commitment within the Thematic Strategy on the Urban Environment. The description of the key elements of integrated environmental management takes up the model developed in MUE-25.

A common strategy for the future development cities which would improve the mix of residential, commercial and leisure areas, as well as putting an end to monotonous urban development - that is the aim of the common strategy for the cities signed on 24th of May 2007 - “Leipzig Charter on Sustainable European Cities.”
On the 6th of June 2007, County of Nordhausen, Germany signed Aalborg Commitments and became one of the 491 full signatories by total as well as one out of 9 signatories among City Partners of Managing Urban Europe-25 (as for June 2007).
